November 12. In 2021, the new series “AirTeam” will be launched on the Bundeswehr Exclusive channels – it’s worth taking a look! There’s also exciting news on Instagram and we take a look at social media usage in Germany, which has increased over the past year.

NEW FEDERAL ARMY SERIES LAUNCHED

Last week, the Bundeswehr launched its new employer branding campaign, “AIRTEAM”. The special feature: For the first time, the YouTube episodes of the series were also produced in portrait format and also adapted to viewing habits with faster and more dynamic cuts. Viewers follow Tactical Air Squadron 31 “Boelcke” from Nörvenich and their mission during an international exercise in Israel.

We are very happy to continue the long lasting cooperation with CASTENOW, CROSSMEDIA and spinTV. In doing so, we take over the social media, channel and community management of the Bundeswehr Exclusive channels on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, as well as the creation and production of social media content. AIRTEAM appears Monday through Thursday at 5pm! Are you ready to take off?

LONGER STORIES POSSIBLE!

Instagram is currently testing further innovations in the video area. In the future, videos up to 60 seconds long could also be shared in Stories without interruption. So creative elements, like selected songs and effects, would be applied to the entire clip. Likewise, it could make sharing reels more convenient. Most recently, the platform did away with the IGTV section and consolidated its moving image formats under Instagram Video.

MOST POPULAR SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM

According to the current ARD/ZDF online study on social media use in Germany, platform use has taken Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitch and TikTok in the past year. While Facebook remains the most-used application, Instagram is already well ahead of Facebook in the younger 14-29 age group – a trend that continues to grow. In the case of TikTok, the 6% increase in usage is particularly striking. This is only 1% behind Instagram. YouTube also remains the leading video platform in Germany.
